Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers pay to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, video content, and generate mobile application installs within the Google Ad network to web users.
The cost of Google Ads depends on the industry that you are in, keywords you want to target and on several other variables such as:
- Google Ads is based on an auction system that rewards businesses who have high-quality ad campaigns with lower costs and better ad placement.
- How you setup your campaigns can influence how your Google Ads budget is spent. If you are inexperienced and not sure how to setup your targeting your cost per click (CPC) can be higher than a that of a campaign that is setup using geotargeting etc.
- The average cost per click (CPC ) in Google Ads is between $1 and $2 on the Search Network. The average CPC on the Display Network is under $1.
- The most expensive keywords in Google Ads and Bing Ads cost $50 or more per click. These are generally highly competitive keywords in industries that have high customer lifetime values, like medical doctors, law, insurance, financial institutions offering loans, etc.
- Giant retailers can spend up to $50 million per year on paid search in Google Ads.

Free Radical Media charges a once-off setup fee (depended on the size of your campaign) to setup your campaign and a monthly 30% of your spend as a management fee to manage, adjust, monitor and report on your campaign. For example: You would like to spend R10 000,00 on Google Ads. Our costing will work as follows:

- Not everyone needs a designer on staff full time (or can afford one at this time). But if you need design work a few times a month, it’s worth having someone on stand by, such as us! You will never have to worry again about who you are going to have to get to do that next project.
- You get a discounted rate compared to our normal hourly rate.
- You have peace of mind with a guaranteed amount of work each month.
- You pay a set amount each month for the duration of your contract and don’t have to worry about fluctuating design fees.
- A design retainer covers almost ALL of our services, without having the fluctuating job costs, such as, graphic design, web design updates, design of social media posts, video editing, and photography!
- You get access to a professional designer without the overhead costs of an employee.
- You have your own personal designer to reach out to at any time, during working hours of course!
- Think of your retainer fee as our monthly salary, without the overheads. It is paid up front at the beginning of each month before any design work is ordered. Essentially, you are paying for time versus a specific service. This allows you to benefit from avoiding those fluctuating designer fees, and supplies you with a cost savings!
- Each design retainer package has a 3 month minimum commitment. At the end of 3 months, we will re-evalaute the program to ensure the number of hours are fitting your business needs. After that, we can move to 6, 9, or 12 month commitments.
- Each design retainer package includes a set number of hours per week. If you require any overage in hours during the month, you will be billed at the standard hourly rate of R750 per hour at the beginning of the next month.
- Based on the retainer package you select, we will block out our schedules with the appropriate amount of hours each month and plan our workload accordingly. You have peace of mind knowing that you will receive a pre-established amount of work each month, without having to worry about what other client projects are ahead of you!
- Unused hours expire at the end of each month. This is to ensure that we can allocate time for your projects each month and plan our workload accordingly.
- Visual identity Items: Design of logos, letterhead, business cards, email signatures, company profiles, brand manual, internal and external documentation.
- Marketing Collateral – Digital and Print Materials: Design of brochures, flyers, print and digital banner adverts, posters, billboards, blog banners, digital company profiles, design of social media posts, direct mailers, event programs, signage, etc.
- Packaging design: Design of printed packaging and labels for products.
- Promotional and Branded items: Design of t-shirts, gazebo’s, banner walls, pull up banners, point of sale items, etc.
- Website Design & Development: Design and development of a single landing page – Including a Contact Form. Additional pages will be quoted for separately if required. (Only available for +6 Months retainer contracts)
- New Brand Identity: If you have more than one business and need us to create a new brand identity for a new business, then it will constitute as a new retainer for that particular business.
- Social Media Management: Excludes creation & management of pages, paid advertising on social media pages, posting of content and content calendars.
- Corporate Videos: If you need a corporate video with a complete story board, voice over, professionally shot film etc, this will be quoted and billed as a flat fee.
- Copywriting: If you require us to write text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing, this will be quoted and billed as a flat fee.
- Hard Costs: Services do not include any additional hard costs such as stock photography purchases, web hosting purchases and printing costs.
- Website Design & Development: Only landing pages consisting of one page is included in design retainers. Websites that require more than one page will be quoted for additionally. All landing pages exclude e-commerce capabilities but can be quoted for additionally, if required.
- Website Maintenance: Website maintenance is not included in design retainers and will be quoted for additionally.
- First, lets get in touch! We like to get to know our clients first to make sure we are a good fit for each other. We will set up a 30-minute phone call to do so! This way we can hear more about your business, your project load amount, etc. We want to hear about all your business and your future goals. At the end of the call we’ll give you advice on what package we think you should start with that will benefit you the most.
- Already a client? Great! We’d love to upgrade you to a retainer account. Let’s do a 15 minute call and decide on what package best fits your needs too.
- First payment. Once the paperwork is completed and the first retainer fee is paid, we will discuss and lay out all your projects needed for the month and get to work! We will schedule our monthly phone calls on the calendar so that they are consistent and planned out. Prior to the next month, we will use one of those phone calls to review the next month’s priorities.
- Repeat, Extend or Re-evaluate. We will repeat the process every three months, as long as you see fit. At the end of the 3rd month we can also re-evaluate your plan to see if it needs hours removed, or hours added if you had overage billed often. If you are happy with the hours allocated we can move to 6, 9, or 12 month commitments which qualifies for a discount.
